Traditional lifestyle. Humble. Hardworking. These are a few descriptions of the Amish in the Kickapoo River Region of Southwest Wisconsin. For almost twenty years the Yoder family has been working a panoramic ridge-top farm, raising chickens and eggs, geese and turkeys in the old fashioned way. Organically grown produce, mouth watering baked goods, tempting homemade candy and-in early June- succulent strawberries are offered for sale. It’s not uncommon for members of the family on a dewy June morning to pick 600 quarts strawberries for market on that day.

During the shut-in days of winter, the family makes intricate and colorful hand-crafted quilts for sale at auction in May. Seven Roads Gallery Inc. is thrilled to be able to offer genuine, quality Amish quilts made by the Yoder family for sale to the larger public.

Take a pleasant step back in time and savor the beauty of these handmade, intricate treasures. With each quilt one can imagine the sound of horse hooves clicking down the highway. Smell fresh baked bread slathered with homemade butter, hear cows lowing off by the barn, a rooster crow at dawn, a ruff colored frisky puppy playing chase and feel a the soft breeze wafting across the corn field as you stand on the porch sipping fresh made coffee.

Seven Roads Gallery donates all proceeds from the sale of these quilts above that portion which goes to the Yoder family to the Amish school fund. The price of shipping, insurance, wrapping and handling is incorporated into the sale price of each quilt. You pay nothing more. When all is said and done in this increasingly complicated time, the Amish had the right idea all along.
